Very well said! It was a betrayal of that anonymity that caused me to lock down my older posts, delete some more and virtually leave LJ behind. I wanted FB to be like LJ but early on I learned the hard way that it never would be. Anymore I just post my new artwork on FB to get feedback because I know the community of sharing my art doesn't exist there.
